Soooo…I’ve been MIA. It’s been hard to track all my food (protein), work has got me ready to quit, and real life I’ve been having too much fun! Went out with some friends from work, and next day ladies night with wine and wii! Also I went stand up paddleboarding which was amazing! I’d like to be out there right now in fact! I went out with J and his friends and we ended up going out to some random creepy old guys boat, which totally brought me back to college days! It’s gorgeous and sunny, and J and I are trying to grow some grass. Getting ready for the wet winter! I bought a ticket to Dominican republic for thanksgiving and the whole family is going to Florida for Christmas! Megan is coming over my birthday weekend and Maria is coming sometime at the end of Oct beginning of November! So there’s lots to look forward to! Last night is the first one I’ve been to the gym for a few weeks. So I guess that’s why I haven’t had much to write about (I like to come here and brag) My car is in the shop right now for a grindy noise when I turn left, and J and I are getting massages tomorrow! Hooray! And I made a fried egg without dropping it on the floor!
We went fishing in Oregon! It was a gorgeous weekend in the NW and I had 8 days off! Hooray! Now I have to work like a crazy person… Anyway, I’ve been doing good with the protein so far. It will be a challenge at work though. I am mainly snacking at work. Tuna is easy to do, but it smells so bad. I’m trying to decide which app to use for food tracking. The Dr. Wants me to get 20gm of protein at each meal! I think I was used to 20 gm a day! Sometimes more, sometimes less. So, breakfast seems to be eggs and veggies. Possibly a protein shake. Lunch and dinner I haven’t really worked out yet. I have just been having whatever and then getting supplemented with beef jerky to get to 20gm. Milk has quite a lot of protein that I was missing, so I’m throwing that in there too. I’m hoping to just maybe cook 4-6 chicken breasts out on the grill and munch on those all week! It’s hard when it’s just 2 and The Man is a pretty picky eater. Although if he likes something, he really leaves me no leftovers. I know no one reads this because I’m not sure I’m ready to share. Who wants to hear about me going to the doctor and trying to get 6-pack abs? I even bore myself. But it feels better to get it out. So, when someone does start reading, give me some protein filled meals that are easy for work: fridge and microwave! Xoxox
Went to the naturopathic doctor Wednesday. Had a few minor complaints: irritability, fast HR, bloating, joint pain in one finger. Told her about my all carb diet. So basically she thinks that is the cause. Well, turns out, not only am I eating too many carve, but I’m getting not enough protein chronically. I kind of suspected this, probably 3-4 days a week I am vegetarian, not by choice but out of convenience. So, my thyroid level us low. Which could be a combination of the protein and night shift. So, she already had given me diet homework to increase my veggies and protein, and labs confirmed it. It’s strange. I get a call saying something is ABNORMAL and I am a little excited! My thyroid is low…so…if I can get that back up to normal, I’d probably lose a little bit if weight. I need to up my metabolism to get rid of that belly fat. Plain and simple. So I NEED to start a food log, and really net 60-100 grams of protein a day. And hopefully that will fix it! But, lab redraw in 3 months, so if not, we could try something else. Sometimes I lie in bed for hours but I thought it was just because I was lazy. No… I’ve been throwing away my sandwich at lunch ever since first grade and trading for ho-hos. I love all baked goods. I could live off pasta and olive oil. Yumm. I’ve been sabotaging myself all this time. Same as how I like to slouch over. It’s just so much mire comfortable. Ok, well, there’s a new girl in town and she has incredible energy and flat abs! Rawr!
